It was spring, all the flowers were in bloom. Polish composer, Jacaszek, had just written new works about death under the subject matter, flowers. The music had a heavy mood with a lot of texture but there was life as well which is captured in the final package design. The grain and details of this piece always captivated me when it was enlarged but this is not a photograph…

Michael Cina is a world-renowned, award-winning art director, typographer and visual artist based in Minneapolis, MN. A true polymath, Michael is an accomplished abstract painter whose work has been exhibited all over the world and can be seen on numerous album covers for various labels, most notably, Ghostly International, where he's defined the overall art direction of the label since 2008. His design agency, Cina & Associates boasts a blue chip client list that includes Facebook, Disney, Coca-Cola, Fox Sports, ESPN and many more. Michael is also the Founder of famed online designer resource, YouWorkForThem.
